Niner introduces the versatile ROS 9, a 4130 Cro-Mo steel frame that can be run as a single speed - using Niner's own super light BioCentric II bottom bracket - or a geared bike with a replaceable derailleur hanger. This frame is built for abuse and the downhill spec geometry makes it a blast to ride. Niner designed the ROS 9 to be a burly trail ripper with super-short chainstays and a slack head tube angle that can accommodate 120mm to 140mm travel fork. Once again, Niner's attention to detail can be seen on every aspect of this frame. The unique dropout design allows 142x12 Maxle use and accommodates a stout alloy derailleur hanger or a single speed insert for a perfectly clean look. The custom butted 4130 Cro-Mo main triangle uses size specific tubing with exceptionally clean welds and is drilled for internal dropper post routing and a proprietary MRP XCG bash guard. Other details include custom drawn S-bend chain stays and seat stays, an oversized tapered headtube and a stainless steel head badge. Essentially, the ROS 9 is the perfect all mountain hardtail machine, made to Ride Over Shit (ROS).

The Shimano XTR BL-M988 disc brakes deliver a balance of light weight and power that resists performance-sapping heat better than ever before thanks to an industry-first full-ceramic piston and optional Ice Technology radiator brake pads. Each individual brake comes with brake lever, and caliper. Rotors are not included.

Hint for breaking-in: New disc brake pads require a certain break-in period in order to provide the full brake power. The following procedure has proved oneself: drag braking on a downhill until the brake power noticeably increases. Then let the brake rotor cool out. Afterwards do 20 full stops braking from a medium speed. Attention: the rotors get very hot, do not touch them!
