Niner introduces the versatile ROS 9, a 4130 Cro-Mo steel frame that can be run as a single speed - using Niner's own super light BioCentric II bottom bracket - or a geared bike with a replaceable derailleur hanger. This frame is built for abuse and the downhill spec geometry makes it a blast to ride. Niner designed the ROS 9 to be a burly trail ripper with super-short chainstays and a slack head tube angle that can accommodate 120mm to 140mm travel fork. Once again, Niner's attention to detail can be seen on every aspect of this frame. The unique dropout design allows 142x12 Maxle use and accommodates a stout alloy derailleur hanger or a single speed insert for a perfectly clean look. The custom butted 4130 Cro-Mo main triangle uses size specific tubing with exceptionally clean welds and is drilled for internal dropper post routing and a proprietary MRP XCG bash guard. Other details include custom drawn S-bend chain stays and seat stays, an oversized tapered headtube and a stainless steel head badge. Essentially, the ROS 9 is the perfect all mountain hardtail machine, made to Ride Over Shit (ROS).

Sram has taken their industry leading 2x10 technology and put it in an affordable package with the Sram X0 10-speed carbon crankset. The separate sets of front chainrings are designed to work in harmony with their mate (26 with 39, or 28 with 42). It is not recommended to interchange factory chainrings because every crankset from the factory has been dialed in to shift impeccably.

The X0 2X10 carbon crankset requires a Sram GXP Team or GXP Ceramic bottom bracket, sold separately.

While other systems rely on side loading the bearings to eliminate play (which causes premature bearing wear), the SRAM GXP bottom bracket system is different. The GXP system positions the left side bearing between the spindle and the left crankarm, while allowing the drive-side bearing to float axially on the spindle, thereby eliminating the necessity to side-load bearings during adjustment. GXP's design allows greater variation in BB shell alignment, maintaining precision and performance regardless of thread and construction irregularities in the frame. Installation is simple: once it is tightened to the proper specifications you are ready to roll with a worry free bottom bracket employing two bicycle specific cartridge bearings and eight seals for a smooth and long lasting ride.
