Niner Mountain Bike Frames

Whether you're a racer or simply a fan of lightweight, high-tech hard-tails, you'll love the Niner Air 9, a stunning, wicked-fast masterpiece that combines Easton's GX2 Scandium tubing with Niner's proven geometry. Working directly with Easton engineers, Niner has dialed in the Air 9's tube set. A custom bent down tube strengthens the head/down tube junction while simultaneously increasing fork crown clearance. Custom s-bend chain and seat stays offer maximum tire and heel clearance, while the radically sloped top tube allows better stand-over height. A rigid bottom bracket area lets you hammer out the hills, delivering your power to the drive train without energy-sapping frame flex. All told, the A.I.R. 9 is a light, agile ripper of a frame that offers surprising acceleration, balance and long haul comfort.

Frame: Custom butted and drawn Easton Scandium GX2 tubing. Frame Weight (MD): 3.1 lbs. Sizes: SM-XL. Colors: Kermit green or atomic blue powdercoat, or raw (brushed scandium with a clear coat finish).

Big wheels are becoming a big deal! By decreasing the tire's surface contact angle, 29-inch wheels offer a smooth, fast ride, letting you roll over large obstacles quickly and easily. Larger wheels also give you a larger contact patch between the ground and tire, improving traction for cornering and climbing and letting you float through mud and sand. By placing your center of gravity lower, relative to the wheel axles, 29er's are more stable. The next development of mountain bikes has arrived and its your turn to lead the pack.

The only mountain bike company dedicated solely to the 29-inch wheel concept, Niner's E.M.D. 9 is the weapon you need to confidently say to your riding buddies "Eat My Dust". Built with a custom butted 7005 series aluminum tube set, the E.M.D.9's chain and seat stays feature proprietary bends to increase tire clearance while maintaining heel clearance. The down tube has a proprietary bend that tested much stronger than a gusseted down tube while maintaining necessary clearance for fork crowns. In addition, the E.M.D. 9 uses Niner's race-tested and confidence-inspiring geometry that works flawlessly with either 80mm or 100mm suspension forks.

The Niner R.I.P. 9 will re-awaken your passion for all-mountain riding. Capitalizing on innovative design and production technologies, Niner redesigned their award-winning suspension frame, picking over every detail while asking, "can it be done better?" Taper steerer tube technology at the head tube, hydro-formed top tube and down tube, and over 10 forged or extruded parts went through a painstaking process of re-evaluation, mechanical stress testing and real world testing to create a frame as light and strong as possible. The result: increased stiffness everywhere without a weight penalty. Niner's CVA (Constantly Varying Arc) suspension technology delivers 4.5" of smooth, efficient rear suspension, while the custom valved Fox RP23 shock provides a smooth stroke with a near bottomless feel of suspension. The pedal-neutral suspension design is compliant on everything from small chatter to large obstacles. And, all four corners of the linkage feature a full complement of sealed cartridge bearings. Finally, the geometry has been slightly tweaked to utilize the latest 120mm travel forks - giving the R.I.P. 9 that perfect all-mountain balance.

Frame: Custom butted and drawn 7005 series aluminum. Rear Shock: Low leverage ratio and custom valved Fox RP23. Frame Weight (Med): 6.4 lbs. (7.3 lbs. with rear shock) Sizes: SM-XL.Travel: 4.5 inches Colors: Black, brown, tang or raw.

Intended use: Cross Country Riding/Epic Back Country/Single Speed Racing!

Niner introduces the multipurpose S.I.R. 9, a Reynolds 853 frame that can be run as a single speed - using Niner's own super light eccentric bottom bracket - or a speeded bike with a replaceable derailleur hanger. Once again, Niner's attention to detail can be seen on every aspect of this frame. The custom made "Breezer" style drop outs accommodate a derailleur hanger or a single speed insert for a perfectly clean look. The custom butted Reynolds 853 main triangle uses size specific tubing with exceptionally clean welds. Other details include custom drawn S-bend chain stays and seat stays, a stainless steel head badge, and a reamed and faced head tube, seat tube and bottom bracket shell. Essentially, the S.I.R. 9 is the perfect 'do everything' cross-country machine.
