Niner's intention was to design the lightest, fastest 29er frame on the market when creating the AIR9 frame. Working off of knowledge gained from the ONE 9 and our relationship with Easton, Niner designed the AIR 9. The AIR9 uses a custom butted and drawn Easton GX2 Scandium tubeset. Niner worked with Easton to develop a proprietary downtube designed to be used without a head tube gusset while still maintaining loads of clearance for fork crowns. A medium raw finish for example weighs just 3.25 pounds. The AIR9 platform paired with choice lightweight components will build the ultimate 29er bike for those long endurance races or simply just hammering the local trails where you want the lightest, most comfortable ride possible. S-Bend chainstays and seatstays offer a surprisingly vertically compliant ride yet the bottom bracket area is stiff for hammering out those hills in middle or big ring putting loads of power to the ground.
