Road Bike Rear Derailleurs
Weight: 192 g.
11-spd compatible only
The use of light alloy and composite reduces the weight while maintaining absolute operating precision. The dimensioning precision has eliminated any possible play between the parts right from the beginning.
This is the fulcrum of the 11-speed systems. The 11-speed rear derailleur has a forged aluminium upper body which works on an enveloping and oversized carbon fibre outer plate. The new form confers torsional rigidity which is 150% greater than the old design and contributes to the construction of a parallelogram with absolute operating precision.
The cage pulleys are now made of a lighter material and reduce vibrations.
Minimum Sprocket: 11 tooth
Maximum Sprocket: 29 tooth
Weight: 179 g.

The pulleys are fitted on an aluminium and carbon cage and turn on ceramic bearings.

Lightweight, anti-vibrating Super Record-11 pulley set comes with self-lubricating ceramic ball bearings to lessen drag and decrease power loss. Molded, hard rubber body saves weight, while its increased diameter and 11 teeth ensure the chain runs as smoothly as possible onto the cassette.

The Super Record-11 rear derailluer's carbon outer plate wraps around the metal body and executes the commands from the Ergopower™ Ultra-Shift™ controls with precision. Maximum smoothness for the cage pulleys made of anti-vibration material. Practically perfect from every point of view.

Turbo-charge your bike with ceramic bearings. Compared to steel bearings, Ceramic Speed Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) bearings reduce friction, decrease power loss, reduce weight and lengthen service life. They are also less susceptible to dirt, dust and poor lubrication. Specify Campagnolo or Shimano.

With a new carbon fiber rear pulley cage, the rear derailleur loses another 16 grams while maintaining durability and improving performance. The new design is compatible with wider range cogsets and can accommodate a maximum 28 tooth cog. The available wider range creates even better compatibility with compact cranksets.
- Carbon pulley plate: saves weight
- Wide gear ratio: compatible with 28T cassette/compact crankset without changing the rear derailleur (total capacity 33T)
- Wide link deign: more stability and more precise shifting
Minimum Sprocket: 11 tooth
Maximum Sprocket: 27 tooth
Like the 7900 mechanical derailleur, the 7970 has a new carbon fiber rear pulley cage and the new design is compatible with wider range cogsets, accommodating up to a 27 tooth cog. The differences are the fact that the unit is now driven by a servo motor instead of a cable and spring, so shifts are identical and precise every time as the computer control unit analyzes each shift.
The derailleur has a built in mechanism that will allow the body to move inward under impact to reduce the potential for damage in the case of a crash. Cycling through the shifting a couple of times allows the shifter and rear derailleur to automatically re-synchronize.
- Carbon fiber rear pulley cage for lighter weight without loss of durability
- New geometry allows for use of 27 tooth max cog
- Servo saving feature allows derailleur body to move inward on impact to reduce or eliminate damage to the component and servo motor
