A new brake pad compound doubles wet condition performance, while also improving dry power by 20%. Enhanced linear response comes from a redesigned caliper arch while a lower profile cable stop creates better lines for the cables and reduces cable friction. While other brakes ditch sensible features like a spring tension adjuster or adjustable toe, the new Dura-Ace brakes still come equipped with those features and manage to drop nearly 30 grams per pair.

A cam in the levers provides mechanical advantage and modulation to further enhance braking power. With new pad compounds, braking power has increased by 20% under dry conditions and actually doubled in wet conditions. Low-profile outer cable stop position improves cable routing for reduced friction, while spring tension adjuster allows a precise set-up.

The Red Brakeset offers superior stopping power and modulation in a light, wind-cheating package. Based on a upgraded version of SRAM's race-proven skeletonized Dual Pivot design, these brakes bring cold-forged aluminum arms, alloy pivot bolts, and an easy-to-adjust padset together for maximum effectiveness with minimum weight. Plus, modulation and power control are feather-light and extremely weatherproof, a benefit of their high-precision bearings.
