Road Bike Brakes

Weight: 318 g. (Front & Rear)

This ensures maximum power for the front and progressiveness for the rear. The pad orbital adjustment possibility always permits the best contact with the braking tracks.

Campagnolo Chorus-D Skeleton Calipers

List Price: $189.99
Our Price: $159.99

Weight: 326 g. (Front & Rear)

The starting point was the previous brakes, which thanks to the differentiation between front and rear, offered the maximum braking power along with the minimum risk of locking the rear wheel, to guarantee the shortest braking distances. To further improve performance, it was decided to study different forms for the forged arms to permit lightening of the structure without sacrificing rigidity and, indeed, enhancing it. This gave rise to arms in which the resistant sections were modified in such a way as to create an oversize effect, by moving them towards the outside of the structure and eliminating the superfluous material. As a result, the new differentiated Skeleton brakes provide performance that is possibly even better with the reduced weight, but thanks to the fact that the arms are forged, and not CNC-machined, their life and safety are guaranteed.

Weight: 282 g. (Front & Rear)

Skeleton geometry has made it possible to reduce weight without diminishing braking power while maintaining the same operating safety. The differentiated front and rear geometry ensures power and progressiveness.

Campagnolo Record-D Skeleton Calipers

List Price: $289.99
Our Price: $279.99

Weight: 282 g. (Front & Rear)

It is worth noting that the skeleton design springs from an advanced structural analysis in which form follows function; the material has been moved to where its structural efficiency is maximum and eliminated where it is minimum, to get a considerable nominal 35 g weight reduction while leaving performance unaffected. The system is differentiated so the front brake is more powerful while the rear one is lightened and easier to modulate, to reduce the danger of rear wheel locking. The materials used for the various components of the mechanisms have been refined, in order to guarantee high performance while reducing the total weight of the system.

Weight: 275 g. (Front & Rear)

The Skeleton structure permits lightness and rigidity. The geometry differentiated between front and rear ensures the maximum braking power on the front wheel and great progressiveness for the rear. The screws are in titanium.

Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 Brake Calipers

List Price: $319.99
Our Price: $229.99

Weight: 314 g. (Front & Rear)

Dura-Ace employs a front and rear specific system that is more powerful and lighter than the original Dual Pivot design. The compact construction of Dual-Pivot increases leverage and power, while reducing weight and size of caliper arms. An overall front/rear weight reduction has been achieved, while boosting rigidity in the front caliper by 25%. Increased rigidity, tighter tolerances and the striking reduction in flex are a big part of the BR-7800 story, but the new multi-condition brake pad compound has also made race-winning advancements. The pads are more powerful and durable in dry conditions, with outstanding durability in the wet as well. Adjustable toe-in brake shoes.

Weight: 293 g. (Front & Rear)

Increased linear response, improved braking power, and reduced weight all make their way into the latest version of the Dura-Ace brakes. A new brake pad compound doubles wet condition performance, while also improving dry power by 20%. Enhanced linear response comes from a redesigned caliper arch while a lower profile cable stop creates better lines for the cables and reduces cable friction. While other brakes ditch sensible features like a spring tension adjuster or adjustable toe, the new Dura-Ace brakes still come equipped with those features and manage to drop nearly 30 grams per pair.

  • Enhanced brake arch proportion: more linear response
  • Lower cable stopper: better cable routing and reduced cable friction
  • New compound brake shoe: reduced wear out of 50% under wet conditions and 20% more stopping power in dry conditions
  • Titanium center bolt: weight reduction

Shimano Ultegra 6600 Brake Calipers

List Price: $179.99
Our Price: $99.99

Weight: 330 g. (Front & Rear)

The Dual-Pivot brake design is a lightweight, compact and durable braking system. Through advancements in design, tighter tolerances have been created which create a firm and instantaneous braking response. Also by integrating a convex washer to the fixing bold of the brake pad, adjustment for toe-in is much easier allowing you to set your own braking preference.

Shimano Ultegra 6600-G Brake Calipers

List Price: $199.99
Our Price: $184.99

Weight: 320 g. (Front & Rear)

Ice Grey finish. Dual Pivot design. Cartridge brake pads. 10g weight savings.

Weight: 279 g. (Front & Rear)

Dual Pivot performance and a proprietary pad compound deliver high power with low weight. Cold-forged arms, titanium pivot bolts and hardware, and a powerful return spring for positive engagement and release.

Weight: 265 g. (Front & Rear)

The Red Brakeset offers superior stopping power and modulation in a light, wind-cheating package. Based on a upgraded version of SRAM's race-proven skeletonized Dual Pivot design, these brakes bring cold-forged aluminum arms, alloy pivot bolts, and an easy-to-adjust padset together for maximum effectiveness with minimum weight. Plus, modulation and power control are feather-light and extremely weatherproof, a benefit of their high-precision bearings.

Weight: 196 g. (Front & Rear)

Equipped with the optimally positioned Power Cam and ultra rigid caliper arms, the Negative G delivers unmatched stopping power... all at a weight rivaled only by its predecessor. The Zero-Gravity Power Cam creates a dynamic mechanical advantage providing extreme power without compromising caliper arm travel. The mechanical advantage increases as travel rate diminishes. This allows for powerful, precision braking and avoids a dead spot which is very common in other braking systems. Made in the USA.

Weight: 170 g. (Front & Rear)

Zero Gravity’s dual-caliber, CNC-machined titanium brake system features a patented 2:1 mechanical advantage/cam lever system, delivering cutting edge performance and weight savings. Ridden to a 3rd place finish by Ivan Basso in last year’s Tour.
