The new puncture resistance
The all new Vectran breaker belt, developed and patented by Continental, surpasses even the famous puncture resistance of the former leader in this category, the GP3000. The extremely strong Vectran fabrics are more flexible and lighter than all other puncture protection materials. Vectran offers more resistance to cuts than Aramid, is five times as strong as steel and features less weight than a nylon double breaker. It also maintains strength in the wet.
The new compound
The advanced Activated Silica Compound (ASC) increases the handling threshold for even safer yet faster cornering and reduces the rolling resistance of the Grand Prix 4000. A new anti-cracking formula prevents UV light from damaging the compound and increases the mileage performance.
The GP4000S offers Continental's brand new "Black Chili" rubber compound which was first developed for the Moto GP motorcycle circut. Continental put more molecular level carbon into the butyl rubber which reduces rolling resistance 26%, increases grip by 30% and increases mileage by 5% - they're Faster, Grippier and Last Longer! The GP4000S has a a dynamic siped tread pattern with a Vectran layer sandwiched in place for added flat resistance. 205 g. 330 tpi. Available in 700x23.

The Michelin Pro3 Race clincher road racing tire is derived from the Moto GP division and with the new tread it delivers 20% more straight line grip than the Pro2 Race, while the new shoulder rubber offers a huge 40% cornering improvement.
