At 81mm deep and 27mm wide, the Zipp 808 Firecrest is the fastest deep-section carbon clincher in the world. The wide, aero rim shape provides efficient power transfer along with comfort and durability, making it an excellent choice for just about any terrain and riding style. In addition, Zipp's innovative approach to aerodynamics allows the Firecrest to handle crosswinds with stability you'd normally find in rims half as deep. Moving away from the conventional "V," the Firecrest is shaped more like a "Deep U" allowing air to spill over the rim in cross winds, thus helping the wheel maintain course. You'll feel like you can ride 'within' the wind instead of against it. Finally, all Zipp full-carbon clinchers feature an exclusive heat-resistant resin as part of the composite structure, preventing temperature spikes in rim and tire pressure that can cause flats. Every rider can tackle the longest, most technical descents with confidence. The Zipp 188 rear hub uses 10 Swiss steel bearings that roll more smoothly than many ceramic bearings. The 20-spoke rear wheel features radial drive-side/ cross non-drive. Includes skewer, valve extender and brake pads.
