By carefully paring down excess material, shortening the chain stays by a half inch and using a smaller diameter down tube and shorter head tube, Santa Cruz refashioned the ever-popular Blur frame into the new, feathery, five-pound Blur XC. Tighter, snappier and lighter, the new generation Blur still sports a plush, 4.5 inches of rear wheel travel. If you’re looking for big air, look some place else.
