Since the inception of the Douglas Matrix series, Douglas has been passionate about developing a road bike of extreme quality with a timeless design at a winning benchmark price. Not to be outdone by the past, Douglas is excited to introduce their completely redesigned 2009 Douglas Matrix, including Shimano's new Dura-Ace 7900 components, time-tested Easton wheels and a 3T cockpit that will delight the senses and leave the competition gasping on the tarmac.

Keeping foremost the philosophy of using the best technology for the right project, Douglas chose to craft their carbon fiber Matrix using a monocoque frame design. The monocoque design features complex tube shapes and fluid lines to provide strength and performance, while allowing excess weight to be carved away. Matrix features the perfect blend of precisely positioned High Modulus carbon fiber and high-impact resin to provide essential vertical compliance without sacrificing lateral and torsional resistance.

The super-sized chain stays are shaped to be extremely resistant to lateral forces and ensure optimal stiffness of the bottom bracket - whether hammered by sustained power strokes or chopped at with big bursts of going-for-the-line speed. A thin-wall, oversized head tube stiffens the entire front end and, in conjunction with a newly designed Douglas fork, gives the utmost in steering precision and response to rider input.

Frame: High Modulus carbon featuring a monocoque construction, a beautiful 12K carbon weave and handsome graphics. Super-sized chain and seat stays.

Fork: Douglas full carbon monocoque with Power Crown profile and integrated 1-1/8" design.

Features: Semi-sloping top tube geometry, forged aluminum dropouts with replaceable derailleur hanger, dual bottle mounts, titanium stem bolts and Douglas alloy seat clamp.
