The incredible High Modulus carbon Douglas Fusion offers a race-proven geometry, totally integrated Shimano Ultegra components and a well-balanced road feel that delivers new levels of performance and value. Whether on the open road, climbing in the mountains or competing at a grueling stage race, the Douglas Fusion has been designed to excel in all types of road scenarios.
In development, Douglas considers the performance of the whole bike and does not simply focus on a single attribute. This detailed analysis of frame and fork, as well as each piece of componentry, renders exceptional performance benefits, including a perfect balance between lightweight, durability, affordability and flawless handling.
The proprietary lay-up process for the Fusion's tube set uses High Modulus carbon that is shaped to meet exact performance requirements and handle specific loads and stresses. To balance superb rigidity and low weight, Douglas chooses High Modulus carbon lugs to create additional strength at the joints and resist torsional stress. The Fusion's slightly sloped geometry features sculpted lugs, an oversized and tapered down tube and Wave-bend seat and chain stays to render unmatched vertical compliance with precise, confident handling and phenomenal acceleration.,br>
Frame: High modulus, unidirectional carbon tubing with high modulus carbon lugs and an oversized, tapered down tube.
Features: Wave-bend chain stays and seat stays, custom machined dropouts with replaceable derailleur hanger and dual bottle mounts.
Fork: Douglas full carbon with monocoque construction and aerodynamic profile. Integrated 1-1/8" design.
Components: Shimano 6600-G STI shifters, front and rear derailleur, crankset (34x50), brakes and bottom bracket cups; Shimano 5600 cassette (12-27) and chain; FSA OS-190 stem, FSA Wing Pro bar, FSA carbon seat post (27.2mm); Easton EA70 700c wheels; Vittoria Rubino Pro folding tires (23c) with presta tubes; Cane Creek IS2 head set; Douglas Race Evolution saddle, alloy seat clamp, gel bar tape.
