Santa Cruz newest offering in the 27.5"/650b platform is the 5010. The Santa Cruz 5010 is the jack-of-all trades, a bike that can handle all riding conditions and then some. The low bottom bracket height, short chainstays and 125mm of progressive VPP suspension produce a snappy, nimble ride, while the 68 degree head angle and 5 lb. carbon frame weight adds climbing agility. The 5010 uses a one-piece, continuous carbon fiber lay-up, which allows interlocking fibers to wrap between tubes and removes any excess material from the frame, producing lightweight performance. Santa Cruz put a lot of emphasis on the performance and ride characteristics of their VPP suspension design, with adjustability of shock rates for individual designs, superb pedaling and bump smoothing characteristics. The new frame has all the trimmings demanded today: 144x12mm rear thru-axle spacing, new molded chainstay protector, ISCG-05 carbon tabs, dropper seatpost internal cable routing, 2 water bottle cage mounts and a 73mm threaded BB for creak-free riding.
