The Eddy Merckx Mourenx69 refers to Merckx's win in the 17th stage of the 1969 Tour de France. This 214.5 km epic ride from Luchon to Mourenx provided the inspiration for an exceptional endurance race bike. Its asymmetric chain stay ensures perfect balance while it's downsized BB shell and longer seatstays provide maximum shock absorption. The bike also has a slightly higher head tube and shorter top tube enabling a more upright position, which is crucial for long distance races. The strategic layering of Optimized Structure Reinforcement (OSR) carbon fiber and Carbon Laminate (CL+) blends stiffness, power transfer, lightweight, and comfort. The Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 follows the direction set for the brand by Eddy Merckx himself; one that is fully focused on ride quality, power transfer and handling, and not with obsessing over frame weight, a number that is merely one small factor in the make-up of a bike. The Mourenx69 is built for impressive comfort and speed for long distance racing and riding. Limited lifetime warranty. The components of the bike on the picture may differ from the actual configuration, see below for component description.
