The Industry Nine Hydra Classic 157 6B Rear Super Boost Hub is the heart of your wheel, everything revolves around them, literally. Every Hydra Classic mountain hub is made start to finish in I9's Asheville, NC machine shop. From turning and milling bar stock 7075-T6 aluminum for shells, axles and encaps, wire EDM cutting A2 tool steel for pawls and driverings, to their own in-house anodization lab, every step of design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly is done on premises to I9's exacting standards. Hydra is designed with lightning quick 690 POE resulting in 0.52° between engagements offering the rider previously unheard of responsiveness. This near instantaneous engagement allows the bike to claw up the most technical climbs, manual at a split seconds notice and rocket out of every corner. The four-bearing hub utilizes external seals for longevity and moisture prevention, while the oversize axle provides rear end stiffness. The large diameter disc flange improves wheel stiffness and braking torque transfer plus the angled flanges provide lower spoke stresses. Made in Asheville, NC, USA.
