Incredible lightness and powerful modulation are the hallmark of Magura's best-performing brake - the new 2015 Magura MT 8 Carbon disc brake. Magura's innovative technology called Carbolay is used to manufacture a super light carbon fiber lever, master cylinder and bar clamp. The brake's dual piston caliber is incorporated into a one-piece design for maximum stiffness, and offers automatic pad wear adjustment. Checking pad wear and replacing worn pads is a snap with Magura's top loading design, allowing pads to be changed without removing the wheels from the bike. The feather light carbon 2-finger brake lever offers integrated reach adjustment, making it perfect for all hand sizes. The MT8 brake arrives pre-bled and is backed by a 5-year leak-proof warranty. Future brake bleeding is no sweat using Magura's Easy Bleed Technology (EBT), employing non-corrosive and non-toxic mineral oil. Hose routing is simple using the adjustable banjo fitting on the caliber. Compatible with all MAGURA Storm and Storm SL disc rotors. Rotors sold separately.
Engineered, designed and manufactured in Germany.
Hint for breaking-in: New disc brake pads require a certain break-in period in order to provide the full brake power. The following procedure has proved oneself: drag braking on a downhill until the brake power noticeably increases. Then let the brake rotor cool out. Afterwards do 20 full stops braking from a medium speed. Attention: the rotors get very hot, do not touch them!
