The "1X" paradigm has hit the mountain bike world en masse, causing plenty out there to rethink the idea of hefting around a bulky front derailler, front shifter and extra chainring (or two). Enter Wolf Tooth Components, a manufacturer specializing in retrofitting existing 10 speed drivetrains to be 1x10 compatible, thanks to their dedicated front "Drop-Stop" chainring and a super huge chainring added to the rear cassette. These fit all common cranksets using 104 BCD mounting. See this WTC Tech Document if you have a Shimano Double M785 XT or M665 SLX double crankset Note that the 30T chainring is threaded and has a 48 mm chainline. All other rings have 50mm chainline. All chainrings feature our Drop-Stop tooth design and are made from 7075 Aluminum. Use a 10 or 11 speed chain. If using a 9 speed drivetrain, plan to use a 10 speed chain (it will shift fine), as the 9 speed chain fits too loosely on the ring. Be sure to order a colorful set of Wolf Tooth chainring bolts to go with your new ring! For the 30T order our 10mm (long) bolts and all other sizes order the 6mm (short) bolt+nut combo.
