The Altamira 2.1 is a competition-level frame, made with C5 high modulus carbon fiber that delivers a springy, yet stiff ride that feels both nimble under the pedals and forgiving on rough roads. The tubing is shaped for maximum efficiency, with the tubes becoming beefier in high stress areas like the head tube, down tube and bottom bracket to maintain stiffness and thinner in areas like the seat stays to provide excellent compliance. The large BB86 bottom bracket shell adds notable stiffness to the frame, and the massive oversized tapered headtube (1-1/8" upper, 1-1/2" lower) ensures that the front end is rigid enough to handle any amount of torque. The full carbon fork has been designed for speed and deft handling, with a tight, responsive rake that provides confident cornering and stability.
