The addition of an extra millimeter of width (19mm internal) to the UST tubeless compatible rim enhances the tire profile, encouraging more tread to lie down and grip in the corners. Proprietary Easton hubs receive sealed cartridge bearings for superb durability. A revised rim extrusion and welded seam further illustrate Easton's commitment to quality workmanship. 24 spoke front and rear wheel with 3-cross lacing and alloy nipples. 6-bolt disc brake only.

Hint for breaking-in: New disc brake pads require a certain break-in period in order to provide the full brake power. The following procedure has proved oneself: drag braking on a downhill until the brake power noticeably increases. Then let the brake rotor cool out. The oversized chainrings are CNC machined 7075 aluminum blanks-2mm thicker than the competition. Unparalleled stiffness is delivered by an increased Bolt Circle Diameter (BCD) and a two-piece insert-molded carbon composite construction. The crank geometry provides a narrow 156mm Q factor, an efficient chainline, and beveled crank arms to maximize clearance.

Patented X-Glide chainring technology delivers accurate, lightning fast front shifts. The development concept for X-Glide was simple: create a geometry that allows each chainring to be divided into equal segments, much like a pie. Then, perfect the up-and downshift timing for one segment, and repeat that for each of them. With X-Glide, all four upshift locations are identical and can be picked up by any outer link. The result? Up and down shift locations have perfect timing, for an almost instant shift-even under load!

The GXP system positions the left side bearing between the spindle and the left crankarm, while allowing the drive-side bearing to float axially on the spindle, thereby eliminating the necessity to side-load bearings during adjustment. GXP's design allows greater variation in BB shell alignment, maintaining precision and performance regardless of thread and construction irregularities in the frame. Installation is simple: once it is tightened to the proper specifications you are ready to roll with a worry free bottom bracket employing two bicycle specific cartridge bearings and eight seals for a smooth and long lasting ride.
