Shimano's XTR Shadow Plus 10-speed rear derailleur, paired with XTR shifters, are the ultimate in shifting performance and durability.
Shimano's new Direct Mount system provides more clearance around the rear dropouts resulting in easier rear wheel removal but also allows frame designers to shorten chain stays, increase axel sizes and move suspension pivots which all result in a better handling and performing bike.
When Shimano released the Shadow Plus system the bike industry threw their hands up "This has gone to far!", But Shadow Plus works and it works extremely well. Through a switch on the derailleur the system stabilizes the chain reducing chain whip and chain bounce in rough terrain maintaining more stable power transfer and shifting.
